Does anyone have any left over Bonnie Gray paint?
Does anyone have any left over Bonnie Gray paint that they are not going to use?
I would be interested in buying it. Thanks, Neil Mylar [email protected] |

Neil, don’t know if this will work but I took my visor to Home Depot and had it scanned and mixed in gloss enamel, the match came out so very very close. Paint on car had aged so it was not perfect, but quite satisfactory for touch up work.

Mayby I will try this for Kewannee green as I would like to change 1931 grill upper and lower inserts from black to body color.

Unless it was mix as part of the same batch by the same person at the same time, all in one big vat, the chances of getting a color match are nil. Add into that, the environment the paint you are trying to match has been exposed to, color changes over time. Even having it scanned, the scanner will default to the closes match in its file.

Re: Does anyone have any left over Bonnie Gray paint?
I took my 1970 Karmann Ghia to a commercial paint supplier. He used a scanner on the hood after rubbing it with alcohol and mixed a perfect match for touch-up. IF i wanted I could have bought a quart or gallon. Check around for where the car painters buy their paint...

I purchased a 1929 Model A Briggs body truck a few years ago from a friend's estate. The former owner painted the hood and the tailgate a Bonnie Gray color. His relatives must have gotten rid of the can of paint, after he died, not knowing that it was for the 1929 truck. If I cannot find anyone who has some left over Bonnie Gray paint for sale, I will look for an automotive paint store that might be able to color match the paint. My plans for the truck is to make it a driver. |

Neil, looking at your hood and tailgate, I would say that they are Dawn Gray, not Bonnie Gray

Neil, We seen you when coming home from the OC Pancake Breakfast. Neat truck, PLENTY of headroom.

Y-Blockhead,
Yes, I followed you guys for awhile. It was fun. My truck goes slow, but I tried to keep up. Eventually i had to turn a different direction. An update on the paint: I removed the hood and took it to an automotive paint store. They are matching the paint for me. I recently went on the Orange County Model A website and found this picture if my truck at the pancake breakfast. |
