Default ID this part just for fun!

I wonder how many can ID this model T part? Just say I can or I can't Tomorrow I'll post the correct answer via a photo of the part in place. The dip stick is just for relative size comparison.

I just posted the second photo of the part in the correct location. Yes it's an engineering marvel. When the seat is pushed out of the way for the driver to enter, the part in question pulls the back bracket out of the way , therefore you don't get caught up in it. Ford stuff at it's best! LOL

I don't recall seeing anything like that on my '15 touring. Looks like it might be an anti-rattler spring of some kind?

Not that I have ever seen! Something aftermarket maybe? 21 coupe turned into huckster, 25 cut down into pickup, nor any of the other T's I have worked on.

Did some checking in the body parts book. I think it is part of the center door passenger seat. Folds the leg(s) down when the seat is folded so you don't hit it when back seat passengers or driver gets in.

It is the bottom of a Center door sedan passenger seat. You have to squeeze it to get the to get the seat out. You also have to pull a couple of pins.

As promised . a photo of the part in place. I've noticed that there's not a lot of play on the Motel T page? Perhaps the interest has waned on Motel T's as many of us older guys pass into the sunset?

No tools needed to remove the seat. just squeeze together and the entire seat and brackets come out together.

Ire Are holes below where you have the “spring” in brackets? If so that’s where the “spring”
Is supposed to be attached and the upper holes are for Clovis pins.
When the “is the upper holes it puts pressure on the location of the foot bracket.
Maybe your car is different than some of the earlier cars I’ve seen.
I think most of the Model T forumaction is over on the Model T Ford Club of America site
And not here.

Dodge , I think you are correct about the hole location. Then when you lift the seat the foot would drop down out of the way, i'll try it tonight. There were pins in the brackets when I found them stashed under the back seat. Good observation!! Your still sharp, BTW how old are you?
