First drive after build
Today was the day we actually drove the ‘31 Roadster Pick up. This is a ground up build from multiple parts and pieces. Late ‘31 Roadster pickup. All steel. This is a project with my father, myself and my son. Three generation build. My father started aquiring the parts 40 years ago. The drive was a little scary. Brakes need work, and it needs some tuning, but it sure was awesome to get it on the road. Trying to upload photos

Re: First drive after build
Driving a long time project for the first time is a great achievement, especially when it is the result of the efforts of three generations.
Just keep in mind, your Model A will get better as you are able to address the issues you found on the first drive. Enjoy!!!! Chris W. |

Re: First drive after build
Easy way for pics:
Click the "blue post reply" lower left bottom of page, when text box opens, in the top middle of the bar you will see a "paperclip" click that, a window will open "manage attachments" click "choose file" then pick your picture, after you picked up to seven pics click the top "upload" on the right hand side of the text box, wait for it to upload. You must type something, anything into the text box message, scroll down to see "preview post" at bottom of your text box, you should see your message as it will appear when you post, if you like it click "submit reply" to post. Easy-cheesy

I have posted pictures in the past. When trying to upload pictures yesterday and today, I get a message that indicates I am missing a security token.

Re: First drive after build
Some will tell you that A brakes just ARE poor. To just plan on extra stopping distance. This is baloney. My A brakes on my Fordor stop me just as good as any modern brakes. Get them right, they work well. Pics look great, you've put a lot of work into it!

Re: First drive after build
Nice color combination! We can use it here in northern California in the fall when the Giants host their next World Series parade.

Re: First drive after build
Took the family out to your neck of the woods last summer. Beautiful trip, and we had a great time. I'm up for the Giants parade.

Re: First drive after build
This is what we had in May 2015. Thanks for the kind words. I think the truck turned out pretty good. Dad was so happy, I think he pulled an air mattress out to the truck and slept Sunday night.........

Re: First drive after build
I love the orange and black steel instead of stainless. Well done.
