looking for a source of Tacoma cream paint
I tried my local paint supplier he could not find a cross reference number. Does any one have a source?
I found a possible match on the web RAL 1001 and a DuPont code of ys314 But am unsure of how well it would match. Here is the answer, I found on the internet! I just amaze myself! LOL Color Name DuPont PPG Color Name DuPont PPG Andalusite Blue (1928-30) G8592 121 Gunmetal Blue (1928) DS151 436 Niagara Blue Light (1928-29) BS047 - Thorne Brown (1929-31) L8815 283 Chelsea Blue (1929) GS724 120 Riviera Blue (1931) BS215 1013 Rose Beige (1928-29) DS086 119 Lombard Blue (1931) DS192 1009 Washington Blue (1931-32, 36) G8381 1246 Moleskin Brown (1929-30) DS079 544 Duchess Blue (1928-29) GS733 123 Niagara Blue Dark (1928-29) BS048 - Seal Brown (1928-30) DS080 118 Stone Gray Deep (1931) DS024 1015 Stone Brown (1928-29) TS239 1016 Chicle Drab (1930-31) B8854 91 Blue Rock Green (1931) GS656 - Elkpoint Green (1929-31) DS127 543 Dawn Gray Dark (1931) 55134 - Medium Cream (1929) B8521 125 Copra Drab (1928,30-31) DS094 440 Dawn Gray Light (1931) DS130 - Apple Green (Wheel/Stripe) (1929-31,35-36) GS056 518 Tacoma Cream (wheel) (1931,33-36) YS314 1245 Bonnie Gray (1929) DS 149 116 French Gray (Stripe) (1928, 30-36) DS113 586 Balsam Green (1929) GS286 124 Brewster Green (1929-31) DS128 1247 Kewanee Green (1929-31) DS118 546 Rock Moss Green (1929) L8621 117 Ford Maroon (1929-30,32) DS056 1011 Vermilion Red (1929-35) 8554 1412 Vagabond Green (1929) GS575 122 Ford Maroon Medium (1931) DS064 - Valley Green (1928-29) GS380 161 Arabian Sand Light (1928) G8883 432 Old Ivory (1928) 43353 295 Orange (wheel) (1929-30) G9953 1166 Old Chester Gray (1933) DS094 1027 Straw (1929-30) 43353 526 Bronson Yellow (1929-31 ) C8067 545 Manilla Brown (hardware also, 1928-31) B8254 2000 Tunis Gray (1932) YS352 180 Winterleaf Brown Light (1932) YS 151 - Winterleaf Brown Dark (1932) C8758 - Brewster Green Medium (1932) YS560 - Brewster Green Light (1932) 38500 - Poppy Red (1934-36) RS571 536 Duncan Blue (1933) DS015 1296 Emperor Brown Medium (1933-34) DS084 1295 Dearborn Blue (1934-35) L9730 1442 Cordoba Gray (1934,39) YS342 1469 Vineyard Green (1931,34-36) DS135 1470 Cordoba Tan (1936) G8883 1549 Gunmetal Gray (1935-36) DS078 1551 Phoenix Brown (1930-31) YS147 - Hessian Blue (wheel) (1930-31) BS034 - Aurora Red (wheel/stripe) (1930-31) RS584 - Olive Green (mail trucks) DS 119 - Mountain Brown (1929) C9259 - Bramble Brown (1929) L8123 - Cream (stripe) (1929) YS309 - Cherokee Gray (1931-commercial) 67258 - Gray Green (1931-commercial) GS362 - Aqua Green (1931- convertible sedan) GS644 - Seagull Gray (1931-commercial) DS021 - Highland Green (1931-commercial) 9598 - Menclous Orange (1931-commercial) YS076 - Tampa Red (1931- convertible sedan) RS388 - Yukon Yellow (1931-commercial) YS169 - L'anse Green (1931-commercial) DS143 - Ford Maroon Medium (1931) DS064 - Pegex Orange (1931-commercial) YS183 - Arabian Sand Dark (1931-commercial) DS092 - Lawn Green (1931-commercial) GS364 - Valley Green (1931-commercial) GS380 - Mulberry Maroon (1929-30 Town Car) DS072 - Rubelite Red (1931-commercial) RS536 - Color Name DuPont PPG Color Name DuPont PPG Miscellaneous Accent Colors - - Mahogany B/C (woodgrained window molding) RS650 - Seat Frame Brown (convertible sedans only) 45944 - Seat Frame Tan YS148 - Walnut B/C (wood grain window luggage rack molding) YS176 - Mocha Brown (window frame color) N9235 - (Harding) Bumper Clamp Blue BS535 - Satin Golden Beryl (Dlx Roadster top irons) YS344 - English Coach Vermilion (pinstripe color) 6543 - Moulding Gray (window molding color) (1928-29) N9235 - Light Buff (mid 1929) (window/molding color) C9258 - Ford Engine Green (engine & transmission color) DS127/DS135 - Commercial Drab (commercial vehicle floor assembly color) DS107 - Pembroke Gray (molding color) YS341 - Top Iron Gray DS092 - Top Iron Tan YS341 - These colors were matched with the DuPont Chroma Vision and SpectraMaster using chips from the "Model A Ford Paint & Finish Guide. Re: looking for a source of Tacoma cream paint
Are you going by the color off your computer? That looks too beige to me. I'm assuming you don't have the Paint and finish guide from the National clubs. I would try and have the color off the paint chip in the guide matched. There's a little hole in the wall paint store in a creepy part of town that has been able to match anything I've thrown at him. Even touch up paint for a faded 40 year old restoration.

You can try http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ also known as TCP Global. I got some Straw color paint from them that I haven't sprayed yet, but it looks good in the can.

Frank, if you are trying to match the paint that is already on the car, just take the car to Jimmy. He matched the mountain brown on my car perfectly. He has the computer and camera. John

Re: looking for a source of Tacoma cream paint
Hi John,
Jimmie is gone, retired. I am going to paint a set of wheels, that I would like to match my 31 Roadster wheels. They don't have the ability to scan wheels because the platform is too small. I'll need to bring the roadster over to ARF some day when it stops raining, possibly in October ! LOL and look over the swatch books, our weather has been so bad, I only take out my 31 Coupe in the rain. Your Mountain Brown coupe looked great at Rhinebeck, (Rainbeck). I went to the Model A & T gathering at Beardsley Orchard in Ct., even though it rained most of the day we all had a nice gathering, I trailer-ed my coupe over because I set up a vendor spot. Put my awning out and a bunch of guys and a few girls gathered under it. I sold out most of my A &T parts, meet a bunch of great people, and came home with a pocket full of cash. Can't beat that!! Don Beardsley is a top shelf guy, had coffee, tea, donuts, and scones, for us to munch on. Looking forward to the next one.

I'm not 100 percent sure my wheels weren't repainted in the past, but I don't think. Since you have a comparison you can tweak the colors to get it just right. Don't laugh, but it involves tremclad ( rustoleum to most). Mix 1 part sand to 1 part recreational white. Add a bit of hardner and thin to spray. Give it a try with the pint cans to see, but I was very happy with it. Use the clear gloss if you want even more shine. |

Re: looking for a source of Tacoma cream paint
I bought mine from http://www.modelawheelcolors.com/
Yes it is powder coating but my car is a driver and not a blue ribbon trailer queen.
