Default Banjo 6 or 10 spline???

Hello Fellas,

Ive got a 46 Super Deluxe and im ordering all parts needed to do an open drive conversion. My question is do I need a 6 or 10 spline yoke? I realize I could pull the old one off to check but I would rather have all parts gathered before I tear into it. Any help is appreciated. Also someone previous to me has converted it over to wide 5 hubs/drums but I believe it still has the original 46 rear (not sure if the year of rear would make a difference in the yoke spline count?).

What years or applications were the 6 or 10 splines used or was there any rhyme or reason to the different uses?

Thanks

Dennis

10 spline was 33 thru about 37. Look at your torque tube. If it has a lube fitting in the middle, it is a 6 spline. I am confident you have a 6 spline.

Andy,

It does have a grease zerk in the middle of the torque tube...sounds like ive likely got a 6 spline.

Thanks a million!
