272 running bad

I reved it up to 3100 and shifted into second it started running really bad
if I play with accelerator I can build up speed I made it home
no smoke dual exhaust seem to be equal sound but very poor
coil seems ok
put a second distributor with petronics and when I turn timming up or down no change like first distributor
car starts good but sounds awfull compression all over 100

any ideas

Sounds like maybe a fuel issue. Check pressure and volume. Or, if you can get it to act up while revving it up, spray carb cleaner down the carb and see if it picks up.

You could try some Sea Foam in gas tank, see if you have sticking valve. some like MMO which will do same thing. Easier than pulling stuff, just sayin. Al
