Default 36 Ford Leaking Front Shock

Photo is my 36 left front shock that shows some leakage. You may be able to see the couple drips. Are these shocks serviceable? Due for replacement? Any insight you can give me is appreciable.

Yes, they are serviceable, and can also be completely rebuilt to work as good as new. I know of a couple good sources to have them repaired/rebuilt.

I would clean around the filler hole and keep it full.(In some document, full is shown as 1/4" below the hole: others is up to the edge of the hole.

Does the shock function?

If you decide to rebuild you may want to rebuild the correct 36 front shock. The lower shock in both photos below is 36, the upper is 35. One of the rebuilders may have original shocks already rebuilt and ready to sell.

See this thread, Andy sent me a rebuilt pair in exchange for mine.
He returned my email right away, and also texted me the status of my shocks for my '41.
