Thanks, Ken. I bought three machines hoping to get one good one out of a restoration. Not exactly sure of the years, model numbers, etc. Once I know, I'd like to take you up on your offer. Do you have any manuals?

Rick.

The correct manual has hard covers and an imprint on the front that says Laboratory Tests For Ford Cars and a tech in long coat beside of the machine. Color is tan. Mine is a 37 edition with a supploment for the stroboscope located in a pocket on the back cover. Hopefully you may find a reprint cause these things are super rare.

Rick, A lot of technical information about the machines can be found in the Ford Service Bulletins for 1934 - 1937. The bulletins have information about how to use the various functions. How to service the machine and make adjustments. The bulletins also have a copy of the electrical schematic. The various bulletins that have the Heyer info are; Oct '34, April '35, Aug. '35, Mar. '36, Apr. '36, May '37 & June '37. Reprints of the bulletins are available from most of the reproduction early V8 parts suppliers. I have the book that others have mentioned in previous posts but find that the service bulletins to be more helpful to maintain these machines. The machines are not that complicated. A good functioning main meter appears to be the key for a good one. Hope this is of some help to you.

I also have an Heyer H1 Ford Lab. Test Set that I am trying to restore to functional use, but mine is missing the 'Interruptor & Gen Control Rheostat' and knob. I would be very grateful if somebody could point me in the direction of a replacement.
