Default Question regarding 1949 Ford Woodie

Long time lurker finally asking for help.

I am just starting to gather parts for my next project, a 1949 Ford Woodie. I was told the outside door handles on a Woodie are different than other 1949 Ford cars.

I need outside door handles and I was told 1949 Mercury outside door handles were the same. Is this true?

I know of a nice pair of Mercury handles but I have not yet found a pair of 1949 Ford Woodie door handles.

Can anyone help me with this? I recently moved to So Cal from Texas.

Thank you
Rich

I would give Ron Heiden a call, 760-753-8047. He restores '49 Woodies and is located near you in Vista CA.

As i recall from doing a 49 a few years back, Yes the push button handles from
a merc. were used on the woodie.
Good luck on your build

49 mercury cars & 49 ford woodies were the same. Push button handles were on 50 & 51 woodies. I think there are some on E-bay now.
