Removing a 1941 gear shift knob
I'm looking for a little help... I know these are meant to be pull-type but how does one actually remove a column shift gear knob?
Regards, -tony.

Re: Removing a 1941 gear shift knob
On my 40 I recall I had to twist and pull really hard.
It's not threaded in the traditional sense. I bet 41 is the same. If you have the replacement knob look and see how the spiral cuts inside the knob look. Last edited by 19Fordy; 11-22-2016 at 07:29 PM. |

Re: Removing a 1941 gear shift knob
Pardon for asking, but what is wrong with the original one on there? If you are not trying to save that one just cut at mounting end and split and remove or just heat it up and slide off.
