Default Headlight lens

Does anyone know where I can find this lens. Not sure of the year. (37, 38, 39, 40, 41 - ?). I would like to find 2 or 3 of them if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like the rims from the sealed beam conversion for '37-8-9. When you find them they should be cheap.

That's the problem, I can't find anyone or a supplier that sells them. Do you know of some place that does have them.

They are not going to be reproduced, they were a bad idea that was popular at the time sealed beam headlights came out on the 40 Fords. You are going to have to find them at places like ebay and swap meets. To me, $80 for the one listed on the ebay link (or for any of them) is ridiculous. With shipping that is $110 and that is just the starting price!!! I have thrown many sets of them away and I would think you could find someone to give you a set or at least only charge the shipping. But if you want a set bad enough they look like a match.

When you look-up the word "UGLY" in the dictionary, they show pictures of those things, and my MIL! DD

I have a pair of those rims/lenses that I removed from my 1937 Ford.

Those ugly things could not come off of my car quick enough for me.

PM me and maybe we can work something out.

C'mon guys, it's enough to say they should be available pretty cheap without calling them ugly. The guy likes them, so there's that.

I'm amazed that TonyM still has them. I thought that they were so ugly that I threw a pair straight into the can off of a '37 I bought, back about 1968 or so. DD

These are all over eBay. Nearly every seller advertises (incorrectly) them as 1940 Ford truck or some such nonsense. They are, as others have stated NOT Ford but rather, an after-market item.

Hey, beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. My eyes? UGLY!

Hopefully if they are that ugly I could buy them cheap. I really just need the small lens for a project I'm working on. Guess you could say I'm an innovator.

I'd suggest you watch eBay. Problem is finding a guy that knows truly what they are. When you do, they will be cheap. Guys that think they are "rare" and or "Ford - oem" are typically a tad crazy in the asking price.

There is one listed right now (eBay item number:172378422207). This guy has no clue what it truly is. However, there appears to be a nice lens in it...

Thanks for the info. I've seen that one on there. I'm just needing the small lens. I already have 4 of the headlight bezel itself. Just trying to find someone who has the lens and does not want them or need them.

They are ugly and of little value! I think we have all attempted to be helpful here. If someone likes them, that is fine, but they need to understand that it is not commonly thought of as a desirable part and should be priced accordingly. I would hate to see someone pay a high price for a set of these conversation sets and later discover how little demand (and thus value) there is for them.

I'm not using the lens on a car. I have a 55 Ford myself. I use these parts to make items for friends of mine. I make a lot of different items using car parts as gifts. Mostly for Man Caves. Like I said, I have the bezels, just need a couple of the lens and hopefully they are cheap as you said. I never make any money on these items so I need to keep my costs down otherwise I would not be able to do this. I'm retired so I just enjoy making things for my buddy's and keep myself busy. I know nothing is free but wanted to see if I could fine these lens. If not, guess I will go on to my next project..

That sounds like a very good use for them!!! They are a nostalgic item for sure. They are a rather cool looking item in and of themselves, it is what they do to the lines on a 37-38-39 car that is the issue.

I agree on that, don't like them on a car. Guess I'm old fashioned that way. Still hope I can locate at least 2 of them.
