Re: Unique antique plates/tags
We can use year of manufacture tags in Georgia. Register the tag with the DMV and they will let you run it on your vintage car, but you must have a current tag in the vehicle somewhere just in case some cop doesn't know the law. I carry a copy of the Code Section in my glove compartment.

Re: Unique antique plates/tags
Well, this won't sit well with some on here, but it was a very neat find. My good buddy found this original plate at a swap meet while I was building my 3 window '32 with a 327 transplant and got it for me .

Re: Unique antique plates/tags
My dad was first issued the W 323 in early thirties and kept same until he passed away in 1983 , then I had it switched to registering my main vehicle ever since. Restored his 1937 plate for my coupe.

Re: Unique antique plates/tags
It seems like all states have a collection of commemorative plates available for a variety causes. Michigan must of had one of the earliest issues of a commemorative plate. The plate I have of my '35 (as a year of manufacture plate), is a "veteran's plate." They were issued during years 1935-1939. To qualify for the plate you have to be a veteran of the Civil War , Spanish- American War or World War I (then NOT now!).

Re: Unique antique plates/tags
I don't run this set of plates anymore because I ran them on a cruise in Feb, and the salt made them rust almost instantly, so I had to replace them.
So now I run this set. I have a set on my '55 chevy wagon, and they are 2283 555. The funny thing is I never ever thought I would own a tri-five chevy. But I lucked into this one. The plates I bought years before at a garage sale and put them on the garage wall as art. I guess it was meant to be.

OT apologies to Flathead fan and all viewers but here is something my wife noticed in his photo. The view he posted is cosmic, as in a Hubble telescope image. Check out the universe in a trunk lid. Especially those twin galaxies on the right.
