Wow, Marvin! Now that's a rare one, and a tight fit! I'd love to see more photos sometime. ('49 TC owner)

Attached are a couple of pic's showing a '48 MG-TC with a '40 Ford V8 60 eng. The car is owned by a friend of mine, he bought the car new, raced it for several years and could not keep the MG eng together so he re-powered it with V8 60. My friend said he used a '40 Ford trk V8 60 because the bell housing was the same size a the 85 hp's..
A very tidy installation...........

Here is my 59AB, ready to be installed in my '36 sedan, which is currently in the paintshop. Note the side mount on the engine stand. Those folks who mount a complete flathead engine by the bellhouse bolts are asking for a ruined block.

After seeing Bills falthead in an MG; I thought I would show you a Flathaed pick-up AND an MG. Both on the road now. The MG is just like the one I bought in 1960 and I bought the PU in 1957. I know it's a bit off the engine thread. Byron.

Oh man, lots of T-Series MG content in this thread. Byron, I'll have to get a photo of my TC and '39 pickup. Now to keep it on topic, here's the cover of a magazine I have here in my office. More TC and Flathead!

Here is my strong sleeper. Nothing fancy, installed New engine in May, 2010

Here is more or less all the data I have on the motor: It is (24 stud) motor, 263 Cubic inch displ, Iskederian 77B camshaft (new), Totally balanced motor including the clutch assembly, 3 3/16 bore with new Mercury aluminum pistons, 4 1/8 throw (Mercury crank stroked an additional 1/8 inch, 21A rods with 2" journals on the crank and new bearings, new main bearings, adjustable (Johnson) lifters, rebuilt distributor, Lincoln valve springs with the lash set at .014", and new cam bearings). New life for the old truck.

Just got the gears in the rear end swapped from 4:11 to 3:54s. Great for the highway now.

I have more photos and history on the truck in my album.

OLE Bill , I have been trying to kill them 59ab blocks forover 40 years by hanging them from the bell housing & have not been successful in hurting 1 yet !!!
An OLE wives tale !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The weight & leverage factor of a fully complete blown BB Chev is way higher than a flathead & I havent hurt one of them either ! Nor have I ever hurt any 6 cyl engines hanging them that way ......... guess I,m jus lucky.
Cheers
Tony

I really like looking through these pictures. Not only is it cool to see these engines, but it helps with referencing parts on my dad's engine as well. I definitely need to locate an oil filter for my dad's.
