Default having trouble in swap site

Not sure what is happening but when I go to swap site I can not reply to posts nor can I send PM,s either. Have re-booted computer already and no go. Just get a block saying I am not authorized. Any ideas.

read sticky at top of classified adds . you can not reply to classifieds on listing any more ( believe I created that by asking serious questions about some carburetors on there by seller kenct . he never answered , no doubt they were more junk !)
Cheers

You should still be able to send pm's to folks who have placed ads here. I don't think that has changed. You can also still reply to your own wanted or for sale ads for information changes, additions, bumps to the top of listing, etc. There are also some disadvantages now in the swap sections by not allowing other folks to reply to your ads since many will no longer take the time to use the pm feature.

The problem I have is that you can only hear an opinion (such as fitment, or if it's the right part/tool for your application, etc.) from the SELLER in SWAP. The only way you get an answer from maybe more reliable people is to create a new Forum Thread. Most times, I don't waste my time and just go somewhere else if I don't want to totally rely on the seller for information.

Very true. I can't remember how many incorrectly described parts on for sale ads I have read here. If I read something that was incorrect about an ad, I would often reply so that both seller and potential buyers would all know.

You can still give the sellers 'heads up' by sending a PM. I've done this with glaring errors on Ebay ads and most times the seller makes a correction and responds with a Thank You.

Eliminating the ability to make snide comments and voice unsolicited opinions about an item for sale is a step towards general civility on the board.

Of course.....but just not as likely to happen, IMO

The helpful, positive comments far outweighed and outnumbered the snide comments, IMO

I completely agree!
But as usual it only takes a few to spoil it for the many.

I am glad that you cannot post on classified adds anymore. Then again it was nice to warn people about bad sellers on the Fordbarn. Ryan should remove some those sellers/vampires. One those Vampires seller still will not pay for the return shipping on those junk 81 carbs. Time will take care of that Vampire.

Hey fellas... So sorry if you don't like the new system. However, it was necessary as I just don't have the time to police the comments.

Plus, I've learned on my other forums that disallowing comments just works better. Ads all get the same amount of time at the top, less bickering, etc...

So it is what it is.
