Default Chassis Paint

I am painting my chassis. I have my frame already painted with a semi gloss paint. The "Paint and Finish Guide" states that chassis parts other than the frame were painted with black enamel which is more glossy than the frame. I will use PPG DP90 primer. What is the proper PPG paint for the glossy top coat? Thanks, Tom

Tom, if you can get PPG products in your area, I would recommend Concept, their catalyzed urethane single stage. It flows out beautifully and is super durable.

Gary, my local paint store can furnish PPG Concept in different shades of black. His most popular shade is code 9700. Will that work? Thanks, Tom

Tom, as Gary suggested, the 9300 is probably considered a prettier black because it has Strong White and Blue toners added and does not have the brownish tones that 9700 has. Another option if your jobber has it on the shelf is the 9000 which is very black too.

Just curious on your frame, did you add the DX685 to flatten the paint, -or did you choose a factory-pack Accessory Black color such as DCC9469 Black?
