Default Oil Leak

what do the team think the problem is here? It looks like a shadow on the backing plate but is a thin film of oil. you can see the drip at the bottom.. OOPS. LOOKS LIKE I LOST THE PICS!!!

Pictures probably aren't needed. A thin film of oil on a backing plate with a drip at the bottom seems normal and not a problem. 8^) Jack E/NJ

If you're talking about a brake backing plate - with a drip at the bottom, to me that means a leaking wheel cylinder . . . which is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Agreed. Brake fluid wouldn't be acceptable if that's what the oil is. Jack E/NJ

Any oil is not acceptable. It could be differential oil soaking the shoes.

This is what I was thinking. So.... would/could it be a seal leaking?

I had this on my F1. It was a blown shock.

I did, as I suggest you do, double check for leaking wheel cylinder.
