swap meet find
Went to the Redmond, Oregon swap meet yesterday and found this diamond-in-the-rough. I may have over paid a bit as the guy needed $1.00 for it. What say you? The vender is from Eastern Oregon and said he was out walking behind his house and found what he thought was a 2 1/2 yard dump box setting under a tree. He looked it over and then started home when he saw the end of one of the wires sticking up out of the dirt. When he pulled this up he decided to take it home. A little oil, clean and set the points and add a condenser and it should run perfectly. After all (it ran when parked).

$1 sounds about right.

Re: swap meet find
Good find! The copper content alone is worth what you paid.

Re: swap meet find
You will need to find a cap. Or maybe a tube of JB Weld.

I'll bet the rest of the flathead is down there if he keeps digging.

Re: swap meet find
Coop, I will remind you that the one in the second picture is a Harmon-Collins; I think that will make a difference.

Re: swap meet find
Redmond Swap was fun and crowded, I counted 10 masks all day. Free parking/ admission produced a crowd of looky-loos. Still bought some goodies and had a great time. Newc

Re: swap meet find
So it must be the condenser then, eh?

Re: swap meet find
If that has an 11a advance unit it could be worth 5 times what you paid.
