Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way? Total length- length to center of pin = length from transmission end to center of pin. My understanding is that all of the driveshafts are the same at the transmission end for location of the speedometer drive? I wanted to confirm the pinion end coupler is not different. Am I seeing this the wrong way?

That's just it, I'm trying to understand what you're seeing. As you stated above, as well as me trying to point-out the importance of earlier-on, drive shafts at the FRONT end are the same as far as the speedo drive location. That is why I noted earlier that since the location of the speedo gear is etched in stone, it becomes important only to match the distance between center of speedo gear to the center of the pin hole at the rear end. A little extra TOTAL length hanging over (an 8th inch or so), or even a tad short will not make any difference to the important measurement between the speedo gear and the pin hole. DD
