Default 1932 Ford V8 Distributor

I have a original 1932 Ford V8 distributor housing which requires restoring.
I would like to know what is inside the oil chamber to lubricate the front bush which is above the oil chamber and is that bush 18-12120-A the same size as the bushes for the later 1933--36- V8 distributors.
As this housing has no vacuum brake assembly, I will have to try and obtain one, or make one, so I would like to know what it consists of, and I see the housing has a special sized thread which is slightly smaller than 7/8" N.F. to fit this assembly in.
Pictures would also be very helpful for these questions

Ian,

Between the oiler and the bushing is a felt wick. The bushing at the front of the housing is the same diameter as the later distributors' bushings, at least through the early '36 version. Those bushings are porous to permit oil to pass through them very gradually to lubricate the front of the distributor shaft.

I'm away from my car stuff for the winter so I can't provide you with photos or measurements of the vacuum brake housing for a couple of months. Hopefully someone else here can help currently.

There were two '32 V-8 distributors listed on eBay in the last several months with their vacuum brakes intact, including the locking nut. Perhaps the photos in those listings may be of some help.

I have now found a book with some pictures of inside of a 1932 distributor but it does not show the picture of the wick.

Ian, what your photo does not show is a coiled cord inside the front oil well. I saw this on a drawing of the distributor assembly at the Benson Ford.
