Default Some body has the tranny I need to replace rock crusher

In the for sale listings, I see many possible listings that could help me,but because I don't have 10 or 20 posts, I can't contact anyone. I need a transmission to replace the rock crusher that is in the original family farm truck I now have. I am told there is more than one that will work. You all are smarter than I am on this. I have a 239 flat head v8, two piece bell housing. the adapter has 6 bolt holes to the case. Sorry, photo will not upload. Feel free to phone 719-244-3787

You have 6 post, so you are getting closer. Is the adapter you have what is commonly referred to as a hogs head?

This is the "hogs head" adapter that JSeery is referring to....the dull, BROWN piece. DD

you have a Borg Warner T9 , the last year they used it was 1951 as standard equipment, 1952 only is the only one that is a 4 speed syncromesh in second, third and forth, 1953 is different as the rear engine mounts are on the bellhousing, and some have the e brake on the rear of the transmission and some do not

are you going to use it as a truck or are you just going to ride around in it? I have changed several of these rock crushers over to 3 speed open drive trans missions from the 42 up pick up. easier to drive and not as much shifting. if you go to an overdrive trans that is the best choice

Welcome to the FordBarn Forums KS farmboy.

Speaking for myself only, I would not and will not be offended by any new member who ran off a string of ten consecutive, almost meaningless, posts.

It's the evil types that have nothing to say, except of course to reply to a/your wanted ad, that are the (insert your word) and not welcome.

A bunch of posts from a new member shows us all that you are a real person not a trolling POS.
