Default Rock Moss Green

I acquired a great picture of a 1930 Model A Closed Cab Pickup from a major Ford Dealer. Was in their Men's Room. I asked, how much? Ten bucks. Couldn't get it off the wall fast enough! Wow!

Now.. The paint looks like Rock Moss Green, The classic "blue-green" paint ford used in the late 20s, early 30s. PPGs Code is IM 117.

The question: Has anyone painted their Model A with Rock Moss Green? Does it have that subtle "blueish" tone to it?

Where did you buy yours? Type of paint?

Thanks Gang!

I seen a picture that came from a restroom also, and like yours...it had some "moss green" on it too.
But she sure wasn't a car

The upper back and belt moldings of my 29 tudor is Rock Moss. It was the original color. I don't see much blue in it. It look just very dark green to me. I just repainted it with acrylic lacquer.

I got it here: http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/aclc...-Ford-pg01.jpg

Thanks, Gary.. That's what I'm starting to think. Do you have a source for Blue Rock Green?

There's that "Purdy thirty again!." Beautiful CCPU.

my car should be vagabond green. i think i am going to paint it vagabond when the spring comes around. mine being a standard i think should be black fenders and casino red wheels. and the body vagabond from top to bottom. but i think i like my black top and wheels too much and will just change the green and keep the look slightly custom. when it came to me it was faded blue fire mist with canary yellow wheels and stripe and i found the vagabond during the stripping process.

Funny, I was going to ask what you searched on Google to find that picture ...until I saw the URL. That is fellow Fordbarner Tom in SW VA's car.

Larry, I am on my iPad this morning so just do a Google search for 1931 Ford 'AA' Cab & Chassis and a AA that we did will be on a Facebook page. You can see Rock Moss there pictured in several different lighting conditions.

My 28 CCPU was painted Rock Moss Green lacquer about 28 years ago. I also liked the Gunmetal Blue that was offered.

When I started re-working my car I found during sanding that it was once green/black, I plan on going back to what she used to be.
I'm not sure what the name of the green was.

As for why sometimes we don't give a straight answer, it is because we don't have an answer at the time, we mean no disrespect, it's just that we revert to humor, until we come up with an answer.

Remember, some of us on here are crotchety old men.
If you can't laugh at life...that only leaves one option...I'll choose the former.
