Default Sticking Valve?

Anything to do about a sticking valve in 8BA engine at low idle. Runs good down the highway, but will almost stop at slow idle. Am running MMO oil in the gasoline, how about some in the oil??

first thing is to run a compression check, you need to know which one is sticking, intake or exhaust, it may not even be a sticking valve, does the valve make a ticking noise? if its an intake mmo should help , if an exhaust i dont think it will be much help, you might try changing to one of the super slippery synthic oils

Did you use a vacuum meter to check if it is the valves and not something else? There was an animated post a week or so back that you could use to help pinpoint the problem.

This vacuum gauge chart will help on that test:

I had one sticking on my 8BA, just overhauled but not on the road yet! valve would stick after sitting for a month or so. I added 4 ounces of pro tec and have had no further problems. By the way the dealer told me I would have to drain it out to get the rings to seat properly.
