Roadster Windshield Pivots Not Holding.

I have 1936 Ford Roadster and the windshield pivots will not hold in the open position when you tighten down the wing nuts on the side. Any thoughts on how make the windshield function properly?

On my roadster, I use Adel clamps to keep the windshield from coming back towards me. I bolt them on using the wind-wing threaded holes.

Not on a '36, but on a Model A I've used cut pieces of tin foil and/or baseball bat tape on the pivots to help build up that space or give it a little grip. It doesn't need much.

make sure the cone and post socket are CLEAN and dry . Worked on my 34 but should be the same as 36 .

Maybe a little valve lapping compound on the cones to help them bite into the mating surface?

If clean-dry doesn't do it this sounds like an excellent idea .
