Default 37 ford transmission

I would like to know if 1937 Ford 3 speed transmissions are the same for truck (1/2ton ) and cars. I don’t know if this is the right place , but what the , thanks

There are different gear sets on some of the older commercials. Some were still spur cut gears. Mac VanPelt's transmission book has several pages dedicated to identification for fitting the correct parts together to make a good set of gears. They definitely had the same case and synchronizer but I'm not so sure about the ratios.

29 tooth cluster for commercial, 28 tooth for car, 29 is really just a lower first gear

They are not all the same. In 1937, 2 different engines with different transmissions were produced and available in both car and PU. Definitely different cases and will not interchange.

1roger41 has not told us what he's doing ... would certainly help.
