53 Merc Park brake cable routing?
I bought a 53 Merc park brake handle assembly at a swap meet because I think it looks cool and I want to try grafting it into my 29 Roadster. I have a 40 Merc column and shifter in the car and don't want to mess up the flat floor with a conventional Model A park brake handle. Can someone guide me through how the handle was mounted and the cable was routed? It has a pulley at the bottom of the handle that routes the cable down. Does this pulley stick through the firewall or does the cable route through the inside of the car? Is there another pulley down below that routes the cable backwards? Any help would be appreciated but photos would really be great.
Thanks, Dan |

That is exactly what I needed! Thanks for taking the time to shoot a picture and find the parts diagram. I think I can really make this work. Dan |
