Installing headlight bar
I am restoring my 1930 sedan and couldn't get the headlight bar installed because the fenders where "relaxed" and needed to be compressed down. I couldn't find a post that talked about this and I didn't have 2 friends available to lay on the fenders to push them down. After I got the bolt through the edge of the fender and hoop, I took a couple of ratchet straps and wrapped it around the fender hoops and the tire trays. Then I was able to ratchet the fenders into place and get the headlight bar bottom bolts into place. I reamed out the bolt holes first with a drill bit that was slightly larger than the bolt. Worked like a dream!

Re: Installing headlight bar
I had the same problem with my 29 Tudor. I loosened the bolts holding the fender brackets to the frame, bolted everything up loosely, then tightened all of the bolts. Whatever works.

Re: Installing headlight bar
You have to loosen the braces. The headlight bar is basically a part of them. It ties the two together and adds extra strength to itself and them. It is supposed to be a tight fit.

Re: Installing headlight bar
Same advice as above, also loosen or remove the bolts that holds the fender braces to the outer lip of the fender.

Re: Installing headlight bar
Loosen the brackets where they mount to the frame, then install the bar.
