Mike, were 6.50s optional when new? I thought all the Fords of this era rolled on 6.00s.

Is the green one a new aquisition too?

Nice looking pair.

Mart.

The springs and tires made a huge difference in the "feel' of the road. It's not nearly as "bouncy" as it was with the tired (old) springs.
Mike, where do you find the "Ford Specs" for ride height? Are they available for other years, say '39?

Mart,
The 6:50 was an option in 1935. I have found no proof that the option carried in to 1936. In 1939 & 1940, the 6:50 was definitely an option.
So, did Ford eliminate the option for 36- 38??? I can't honestly say.

They are available for each and every year.
Engineering drawings provide all of the overall specifications for the bodies.

Mike, call me picky - (I am an injunir) but you have 2" gain from the springs and 1/2" from the tyres - you only get the gain from the lower side of the tyre. The DIAMETER is 1" bigger but you only get the RADIUS worth.

So you're getting 2-1/2".

I actually do this stuff for a living - honestly.

Hi Mart,
Well, you brought a smile to my face and I thank you for that

I did not measure the total gain using any exacting method. And yes, going by specifications only, your 2 1/2" is logical.
It was easier for me to note with a great degree of accuracy the increase in ride height at the fenders and bumpers. measuring the overall height of the car very accurately was not as easy nor did I care if it was perfectly accurate.

I do believe you do this kind of thing for a living. I was a tool & die maker with the last four years or so of my career spent as the inspector for the tool room.
