Default 1939 windshield knob

Does the knob turn to the left or right to open windshield?
Also what are the steps to replace windshield wiper motor. It looks like
a major undertaking to me. Thanks for your advice. Charles

If it's a closed car, you must pull the headliner back a bit to get the motor. Once there, it's simple.
Open car? Under the dash - very easy.
