Hurricane Harvey Barners

Don't we have some Ford Barners in S. Texas. I hope they are safe and they had time to move their cars. Let's all think of them and there possible troubles.
I haven't seen any reports from or about them. Anyone know anything about how they are.

There are several lurkers and a few contributors involved. I texted regular contributor Jim Cannon who said water was within 4" of coming into his front door however the creek had stopped rising for the time being, so he was still dry. I asked him if I needed to send any supplies and he replied "Sandbags!". A couple other Model-A guys that often lurk here said they had water all around their house where they were stranded so they could not leave but were safe. I sent a text to one person that lurks here who lives down in the Friendswood area and they have not responded back. I know there are others so that are in the affected areas, so I hope they can respond too. I'm sure even Ryan was affected by the storm in the Austin area.

Since I grew up in that area, I still have many friends and family right in the area that is under water, ...and here is a few pictures of my oldest sister's church that she sent me yesterday when her husband and the pastor went to inspect. Can you imagine your own church having this much water in it? Many other churches and businesses will be just like this. Unreal!! Hopefully other Fordbarners affected will add pictures of their home or garage.

It is looking better in the Houston area. Sun is shinning today. The water is starting to recede but people that had evacuated still cannot get back in. We were blessed in that we only had water in the street which has drained now.

I have seen social media feeds from non-Barner friends. One was evacuated and another had water up to her door, but is sounds like she will be spared. I saw one report of almost 52 inches of rain. That is a lot of rain. Just a few years ago, they were suffering a drought!

I saw on the Reddit social message board where a BMW car owner in Houston. Saved his three Bimmers by putting them on jack stands on top of blocks. In his drive way, garage and one car on a car trailer. Look up: Texas

We live in Kingwood and my son and his wife live in Humble. Were about 30 miles from downtown Houston. I've been down here since 1990 and have not seen anything like this before. The areas that usually flood flooded but areas that never have flooded have flooded. The flood water came within a mile of us. Both of our families are high and dry and lucky. I know of at least (2) A's that have been in the flood. I'm sure there are more. The greatest thing is how everyone has come together to help and support everyone in the Houston area in a time of need. We only had a neighbors oak tree fall over into our backyard because of the rain.

We have been getting reports on what's happening over there and I have wondered about how people are managing. I hope all is well for all of you.

I have heard that 80% or more do not have flood insurance on their homes.

I was lucky, I didn't flood. I know several people who did.

I saw pics online of someone who couldnt take their project BMW with them - they jacked it about 4 feet in the air using lots of wood 6x6 blocks and pics they showed after it flooded water was just about to touch the bottom of the tires.... saved the car!

This is a good reminder that they can use any and all the help that we (America) can give !
98 yr old FIL said that when we send our check/donation, would we please send his donation also ! He's a special guy, indeed

It helps to first...Do your research , as to who to give donation to.
And , get a receipt !
