Default MAC's bought out

Mac's has been bought out by Ecklers. I have no experience with either so don't know what impact this might have.

In November 2012, MAC’s joined the Eckler’s Family of Automotive Parts companies.

I just ordered from mac's and received my order in three days. The shipping seemed a bit steep but the service was very good.

I've purchased most of my parts from Mac's , And cannot understand the bitterness in their business. The're is few business's that completely satisfy everyone, and with new owners, they have improved there service considerably!!!
If a business does not suit your needs , go elsewhere!! I restored a 24 Model T and am presently restoring a 28 A with their parts, and frankly have had little problems.!!!

When I had my '66 Sting Ray I bought quite a few parts from Eckler's and always had good luck on service and quality. Maybe that'll transfer over to the "A" parts too!

Macs do seem to get bad press a bit in this forum- I'm glad you have had good service from them. Personally I (and by report many others) have not. From my point of view the parts were fine (and subsequently I have brought many Macs parts from affiliated suppliers) but their customer service really sucked. It's nice to hear that this has improved !

I am one that doesn't do business with Mac's anymore. One two different occasions I call to ask about what vendor made the sheetmetal part (didn't want anything from Howell's in TX). Both times with different people, a year or so apart, the person said they don't provide supplier information to customers. I just went to Bratton's, Snyder's or Bert's where they will tell you where a part was made and the quality.

I purchased a rear carpet from them for my '31 TS. It doesn't fit no how, no way. I've never used it of course because it's the wrong size. They won't take it back and it's was pricey. So my $200 plus was wasted. For my two cents they can go straight to you know where. I hope I'm not offending anyone but those are the facts ma'am.

I've ordered from "the new" MAC's, and while the service is excellent and very professional, I prefer to order from one of the small guys instead of supporting a big corporation that takes over small businesses like a shark. That aside, almost every other day now I now have spam from MAC's in my mailbox, and that I really dislike.

Truer words have never been spoken Pete. Not all of their parts are a problem however my experiences have been the majority of them are less than my standards. I do understand some folks are perfectly fine with "Wal*Mart quality", and as such that company stays in business offering their customers that level of quality. I liken Mac's/Specialized to Wal*Mart, ...they fit a niche market of generally offering what I feel is the lower end of the scale type quality of parts to consumers who value price over quality.
