Charlie NY and I have made contact and we will be doing business. I thank you all for your input. I feel confident I have chosen wisely as a result.

I understand the advantage of running both the mechanical and vacuum advance. But I have run a lot of mechanical only and prefer the simplicity.

What is so complex about the vacuum advance?

Bubba, would it be revealing a "trade secret" to tell us the part number for these points?

No secrets here ....
CS753 ( 49-74 ford) and CS756 (70s ford) fit the mallorys and work very well.......

The factory book says the vacuum advance only does 11 degrees.
With no centrifugal advance I would think anything would be better than the original. And spending money on an electronic unit for a stock distrib is a waste.
My F1 V8 gets me around 10 mpg with a 3.5:1 rear end at 60 mph.
If I had something that would advance the spark more at cruising speed.............
