I have a vintique wiper motor install kit I bought 8 years ago but not sure how it goes together. From what I've read they are junk but would like to try and make it work. The motor shaft has a hole drilled through it, what goes in the hole and the shaft has a groove in it near the hole what is it for?

Wiper arm ---- the rod fits the hole, the spring link in the groove--- if it made like original
