script head
I have a head with Ford script on it. An expert said that in late '31 Ford began again to put script on his parts. True? The special triangle was not on the water outlet. The # is 62341 in raised letters. The compression area looks standard.
What have I got? |

Re: script head
FWIW the JS state: "Most cylinder heads had a subtle one or two digit indented casting number located just forward of the #1 spark plug. The letter "B" indicated a high compression head that became available in April 1931. Model A cylinder heads had no pronounced markings on them beyond those noted. Aftermarket heads will appear nearly identical to factory original heads, except they may have raised bosses with numbers or letters. Some service replacements were labeled "Ford USA" or Ford.
My 1930 has nothing on the head other than the casting mark. The head on my Oct/Nov 28 has the Ford script. My level of expertise, as you know, is novice. |

Re: script head
Script heads are after market used as replacements.
