Make sure the retaining screw is removed.
Spray the base with penetrating oil.
Apply heat to the base.
I've been able to remove them by lightly tapping around the base [ and haven't broken one, yet]
There is a tool made for its removal sold by the A vendors. I've never used the tool, but, many have.

Apply penetrating oil (Kroil) to the base of the distributor body. NOT WD40. Give it time to work. A couple of days. It is very easy to break the dist. body. Be very careful prying on it. When doing do, pry evenly on both sides simultaneously.

Do not try to twist CW. CCW. There is a dowel pin under the base and into the head.

A little off topic - my truck has a light green motor as shown above. Was that an official Ford color? With the limited #s of As I have seen, the motors are a much darker green.

The head on the engine of my '30 Roadster is that color green. The rest of the engine is covered in grease and grime so I can't tell the color. I thought it was faded but someone on another thread said that many of the old rebuilders used to change the color of the engines when they rebuilt them to identify their engines.
