Wouldn't it be better to make the brake adjustment board out of aluminum instead of wood? (The board you use to put on the brake pedal)

I, personally, never use the board. I adjust all rods equally & it also results in a higher brake pedal. Also, I don't EVER want my rear brakes to apply FIRST, especially on wet pavement. Do we ever hear of modern cars that apply the rear brakes before the front ones? Yes, some will disagree, but I've found, that for me, the above works best.
I "dumped" a car over once, when the rears only, skidded in the rain! (EEK!!) Bill W.

The question was about the use of aluminum vs wood....not the old brake brew-ha-ha.

I use wood because it was real easy to make with hand tools. Metal would last longer, but the tool doesn't get much use.

I got one of these from one of the vendors. Looks like a re-made caulking gun. BTW -good idea, but - it just doesn't work!

Yup, Aluminum would last longer, but wood is easier to work with, costs less, and more accessible to most folks.

They make one to adjust brakes without a seat installed right? (meaning bare frame - no cab nothin)

Use some vice grips and clamp them onto the pedal arm at the point by the floor board when the pedal is depressed to where you want it. Draft a volunteer to step on the brake pedal and do your adjustments. Move the vice grips up the pedal arm and repeat the adjustment process. No making of anything at no cost....
