Default Thanksgiving week T project work...

Wondering what you fellas are up to this week with your Model T's. Driving, wrenching or repairing?

I usually take this upcoming week off to complete the "honey DO" list and finish some work on the T and get those ordered parts on and access what the next phase of repairs will be.

Will re-check valve lash and get the head back on, might get it fired up if all works out and tidy up the shop while listening to "Alice's restaurant"

I like driving my T around the holidays. I took it out the other day and the engine would not shut off when I turned the key off. (Distributor & no mag) l killed the engine with clutch and looked around for the problem with no luck. I turned the key on and the amp. gauge did not move. I touched the wires behind the ign. switch and everything came to life and I started it and ran around town for an hour or so with no problem but on the way home ,at a stop sign, it died and would not restart. I touched the same wires and came back to life again. Back home I took the switch apart and cleaned it but I didn’t see anything obvious. The contacts are clean and the wire connections are tight. I guess I’ll be doing some diagnostics this week and, I hope, lots of driving.

I'm going to open the garage door and look at it for awhile. Sometimes I take it Christmas
shopping with battery powered LED lights and a wreath on the Radiator.

Scottio, I'm in Lancaster this week and it looks like you'll be driving in the rain.

Hopefully I will start on the newly acquired 1915 Kuempel Body speedster. It has been "museum stored" for the last 20-30 years. First order of business is to take off the inspection cover and see if the inside of the engine looks OK. Then add gas, water and oil and see what happens.

Yep. Raining today and tomorrow. Calling for a little snow but I doubt it. Being an open car I guess a coat is in order.

Well Scottio, you won't have to worry about driving in the rain right now. It's snowing.

We are getting snow. Doesn’t happen very often here any more so I took the T out for a while. The windshield defroster isn’t working too good and it is a little cold but a nice ride anyway.

Mine isn't running and hasn't run since around 1962. Hope to get it running before too long.

Jeff P.: Nice spacious, well lighted, very tidy garage. I am jealous.

I do like the "toolboard", so that is a right hand driver I see. How did you acquire that T Jeff?

I wish it was a RHD car!
I installed a rebuilt later rear last week that I had, works great. Today I removed the front suspension for inspection and some repair (check out that drag link!). I will also inspect, clean and paint my front spring with “Slip Plate”, as I did with the rear spring. I did notice an improvement in the ride with just the back spring redone. Good winter projects.

Jeff that first rear view and differential picture looked like the steering wheel was on the right, that top down front shot explains it.

I used the slip plate on my new front and rear springs this past summer its a great product, the small quart was plenty.
