Re: Look what followed me home
Good Luck! Reminds me of the 40 Ford PU that followed me home on a tow Dolly in May 1990. I fixed it up & it was my driver & enjoyment for 19 years till I got my 36 Cabriolet near done in 2009. I Love my Cabriolet but MISS the 40 PU & the 41 Linclon Continental 2dr Sdn I had in the 60s( a miss fit with a Flathead V8 in place of org V12...Miss that TOO Someone on the Barn says "Dont get rid of NOTHIN" Hes right!!!

That looks like a good winter project. '53 to '56 F100 are one of my favorites. Have fun with it. I'll be on the look out for it when I'm up your way.

Re: Look what followed me home
Wow looks good . That will make a nice truck. Just starting on my 53 M-100 and plan on keeping the flathead as power. But because I like to drive my old fords or in this case (mercury) a lot I am going with a Chev S-10 five speed overdrive trans to help out on the Hy-way speeds. Good luck on your rebuild and have fun.

Re: Look what followed me home
Hey that looks like just the thing to tow your race car to Fantasy Speedway. George, you may have cold winters up there but the fun summers make up for it.
Lets see, keep the flattie, pick up a 5 speed, and I have hear a Volare-Aspen front suspension fits the frame real good.... have fun, and keep us up to date, Chuck S. My 40 project, doors are hung now too. |

Looks like you got most of the hard work done, body back on.I remember like 22 bolts hold it on.Is that a 39 or 40 is that a 3rd car LOL. Looks like the 53 has 4.11 drove up road shifts ok.I can see now i,m missing more parts then i thought. One good thing parts are easy to get, new if you have to. Seeya George |

Re: Look what followed me home
George,
The black one is a copy of yours, 39 standard. I have had it since I was I was in my 20's, she is dead stock, even the engine and trans, 6 volt too. I am glad to have something to measure on for the 40. Good luck with the truck, Chuck S. |
