Default PBS American Experience-Bonnie & Clyde

On Tuesday, January 19, 2016 PBS will broadcast an episode of "American Experience" featuring Bonnie & Clyde. They contacted me to use my '33 Sedan for some extra shots to help tell the story. I drove the car, and it was fun!
Go to PBS American Experience website look at Bonnie & Clyde.

I saw the PBS ads for that showing the front view of your car. I plan to watch as my great uncle (a detective in Joplin Mo) was one of their victims.

A good combo,a Ford V8 with a Browning Automatic Rifle! It looks like your car was the only one they used.

Good for you, fourfords! Your car looked excellent. Good memories for you in being a part of that movie. I'd love to have a video of my '34 going down the road. Did they give you a DVD of the movie or any extra perks?....

I saw the show and it was pretty good. Great shots of your car and they showed a photo of my great uncle Harry. They still sensationalize the bad guys though. Here's a letter the Joplin MO Chief of Detectives sent to Frank Hamer to congratulate him on the killing (extermination) of Bonnie and Clyde. Gives you an idea of what the people in the know thought about them at the time. Probably wouldn't be politically correct nowadays.

The broadcast showed the car more than I thought! I have to say it was a bit surreal to see my car that I drive around every day on TV!

By the way, the original 1934 Deluxe Sedan is in the lobby of "Whiskey Pete's" in Primm, Nevada on Interstate 15. The bullet holes seem to match with the car they showed in the broadcast. Fortunately they didn't ask me to shoot up my car!!

Long live our special V8 hobby!!

Neat story and car! My first car/hotrod was a 34 Ford 4 door sedan - put a hot flathead in it, drove it to the drags, drove it throughout Highschool, etc..

At that time (35 years ago), I rapidly found that there were no shortages of people who had 'The Death Car of Bonny and Clyde' . . . everybody claimed to have the original.

Hell, Bonny and Clyde would have to had at least 9 lives to be in all the cars that I saw!

Here is my 4-door (and me - yikes!), back in the day:

I checked my TV listings here in Central Florida and the American Experience episode of Bonnie and Clyde will repeat a number of times here. I've set my DVR to record it at 2 a.m. tomorrow (Friday).
