Charles,

Not sure if I understand your question correctly, but the equalizer brake system (two piece cross shaft and swingarm under the crossmember) was used for quite a while after they stopped the left hand emergency brake handle. Is that what you're talking about?

Charles,

If you want to learn about your frames...go to my website www.plucks329s.org and go to the section on The Model A Frame.

From that you can key out your frame as to where it lands in the assembly process.

My 9-27-28 (tank date) frame has the same thing. It's just Ford using up excess parts of a previous design.

The center crossmember doesn't have the "stop tabs" for the 3 piece brake
system. I would guess about July or August.......my frame is like that with
the "factory fix" bolt in stops. I believe the fix was a dealer installed part.
That info came from either Pluck or Marco.......

This would have the third generation of brake cross shafts, not the early version. Brake handle would be on the transmission, not the left cowl panel. Rod
