1935 and 1939 Transmission Questions
I have a 1935 transmission and want to drop 1939 gears and synchros into it. Will this work? What kind of cost would I be looking at to do this?
Here are the photos of the transmission. https://photos.app.goo.gl/MUHcPrFCYZWbuAOQ2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/TLzxMZ7Mjnsu7m8R2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/shve5Xdces5s45d93 https://photos.app.goo.gl/IW0iJPos2YGn6Zeo1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/pyqsDl9oPwL8glA52 |

Re: 1935 and 1939 Transmission Questions
Yes, it will work. I've done several. Cost for me was buying a '46-'48 side shift transmission with good gears and swapping those gears into my 35-36 top load case. Then changing shifter top from a '35 to '39 with correct forks for later gears. Total cost will vary depending on cost of a donor transmission, '39 shifter top, cost of any parts that may need replacing, a gasket set, and whether you do the work yourself or have to pay someone to do the work for you. Lots of variables.
I could not open any of those attached picture files.

Re: 1935 and 1939 Transmission Questions
Yes, the opening for the shifter tower in the 35 sheetmetal cover must be cut larger for the 39 style tower, or a 36 sheetmetal cover would work. Thanks for that reminder.
