Default Removing Radiator

Having a wild time removing radiator on my 31. (replacing 4 blade fan with new 2 blade) Thought I would have it boiled out while apart.
Seems it doesn't want to twist enough to clear the radiator tabs between the frame & fender. Would removing the shell and/or thin rubber pads under tabs give it move twisting room? I have the hood, front apron, headlight bar, water pump removed now.
Thanks

Word of warning. When you have the shop boil out your radiator do not let then pressure check it. The Model A coolant system is non pressurized. They can blow your core out.
