Photos of "the other love"
I'm always curious what other cars folks here have besides their beloved Model A. After many years and cars and trucks, I sold them all off and told the wife, I'm done. She just said "Sure......I'll believe it when I see it". 6 months later I bought this little gem. Then I figured.....hell, I have room left over in the garage for a 1920's car which I've never owned, Low and behold.......a buddy for the Metro!

Besides the Model A CCPU, we have a '25 T touring under refurbishment and a '61 Morris Minor that's redone.

Re: Photos of "the other love"
It's too difficult to post pictuers here, otherwise I would but my other car is a 1929 Delage, model DM. Mine was about the second car made for the 1929 model year which starts on 1st October the year before so mine was made early in the first week of October, 1928.
Two weeks ago was its first outing after a 20 year restoration project. It took out two awards! I'm very pleased with it.

there is the '30 Tudor which my uncle and I restored when I was in high school in the 70's, and I eventually bought from him, there is the '79 Plymouth Road Runner, which I bought new and still have, and a '70 Chrysler Newport Convertible, which was also my dad's, but unfortunately have no picture to post. It is a 43k mile car which is still like new also.

Re: Photos of "the other love"
Besides my wife's '30 standard coupe (deluxed and rumbled by a PO), I have a 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK, amber red metallic, with less than 6000 miles on it. Bought from the dealer in West Virginia that originally sold it and did all the maintenance on it. Now that's my idea of "restoration"!
Unfortunately all the pics are on my old phone, which I need to resuscitate. |

Too many to list; trying to downsize but failing miserably: current stable includes the avatar; 4 WWII and Korean War vintage Willys Jeeps; another A; handful of Mustang Convertibles, plus the Truckstang (google it if you want pictures); couple Toyota 4x4 rigs for use around the ranch. Send a note to [email protected] if you desire pictures.

Re: Photos of "the other love"
After I parked my Ford in Grandma's garage for its long sleep, I bought my brand new Rambler convertible. After 100k miles, I did the stupidest thing of my life--took $100 for it on a tradein for a '71 Dodge Dart. Not a day has gone by that I don't kick and berate myself.

Re: Photos of "the other love"
Mine is a '28 Nash Standard Six sedan, purchased for $50 when I was just 16. It sits awaiting my retirement (which starts before Christmas!) in a thousand pieces. Yes, I did the unforgivable thing many moons ago.
That's my late dad (who stumped up the $50!) and me on the day we brought it home in Dec 1970. |

My wife and I love taking our 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser camping and off-roading. This is a picture from the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park. We drove out west on a 5,296 mile road trip from Ohio in 2015.

I'll play too. New here and dont have an 'A' yet but looking forward to the day. I restored this car over a 5 year period, it was a disaster before I started. Re: Photos of "the other love"
You can do like some gun collectors I know do. Their wife doesn't know one gun from another but she CAN count. Buy a couple crap bikes for a couple hundred bucks each (or less), then when a GOOD one comes available, you buy it and get rid of one of the junkers. If the wife checks, there is still the same number of bikes. . Certainly would be easier to do with guns but could work with bikes.

As well as our 2 Model A's, we have 2 "modern" cars. My 1953 Alvis 3 litre 6 and Dianes 1962 Mark 2 3.8 litre Jaguar.
Our really modern cars are a Jeep and a Porsce Boxster. TheTudor and Roadster do the most miles as weekend cars. SAJ in NZ |

Re: Photos of "the other love"
BIGD, thanks, I do have a few more bikes but didn't want to bore the guys, I have a '39 BSA Gold star, '67 BSA Lightning, and a '52 Ariel, along with my '01 roadking that is a driver. Between my brother and myself we had about 30 at one time but reduced the herd a few years ago. I had a chance to get a (ducati) 750ss for about 30G a few years ago but passed it up. And yes, my wife tells me about every day to get rid of them.

Nice Vincent Bruce. One of the things I love about vincents is that it seems that a lot of them are still being ridden. Bruce, Have you ever been to the 'classic motorcycle day' in MD. I know when I used to go, there were many VA riders in attendance, and typically half a dozen guys riding in on their Vincents.
