Default Radiator Hoses

In the process of changing water pump on my mostly original 29 Tudor and also want to change the old rad hoses. The upper hose measures 9'' long and shorter lower hoses are 4" long. Vendors show a 6 1/4" and 2 3/4" for a 29. The hoses for 30-31 are listed as 9" and 4". I checked Macs,Brattons,Snyders and Mikes. They all were the same. How come? Thanks, Bob

The 29 radiator is a couple inches shorter than the 30/31 radiator. Therefore you need the shorter hoses. At some point someone put a set of 30/31 hoses on your 29.

That's what I thought but it doesn't look like a 6" hose would fit being too short. Shorter lower hoses also look like they would be too short. Maybe with hoses off it will look different? Thanks,Bob

I bought a set of black hoses with the red stripe from Mike’s yesterday. I had to cut about 3/4 of an inch from the top hose. Other than that, they fit great on my’29 Tudor. I talked to Eric at Mike’s.

What hoses did you get from Mikes. Did you cut 3/4" off the 6 1/4" hose or the longer one for 30-31.

The top hose was originally 7 1/4 inches long, I cut 3/4 of an inch from it. Both bottom hoses are 3 1/2 inches long ( I didn’t cut these). This is a ‘29 Tudor and a new Brassworks radiator.

I would verify radiator, front crossmember( 28/39 round radiator holes an flat mount, 30/31 oblong mounting holes and a dropped mounting pad). The outlet on top of the head was different between years as well.
