Default 50 shoebox diff

Can someone confirm that the pinion setting is set by crush washer or is it set by shims in this diff. Thanks for the help.

I believe it is a crush washer or spacer.
if you're replacing a seal just mark the nut to the shaft for reference, If you did not do that then just tighten it and check bearing preload, which I usually do bt feel. Not loose but just some drag.
