I thought your request was pretty straightforward too ---- , what the peanut gallery doesn't know is how to mark the pulley for correct top dead center. Keep up the good work, sorry I couldn't help with your request.

Umm, have you tried doing a search on the forum?

There have been many discussions about these things with pictures and stuff. Probably if you search Youtube you will find video.

As for the experts, well many have decided it is best to move on.

Reading the posts above, I must have missed something.

This picture is not the NuRex gauge, but it shows the one I have on my engine.

Whew that was close ... I was going to say something about a Snotty remark that someone made. But chose to remain silent ...

Now his post is gone.

We have used that item on a number of engines. It is easiest to set TDC on an engine with the radiator out. Then use a file and cut a small groove into the crank pulley with the gauge attached. Make sure the engine is at TDC using the timing pin and visually checking the #1 piston the verify it is at TDC. A 6 volt timing light can be used to easily set the timing to various degrees. The engine will start and gun great. The photo is a NURex sold item. See them a Hershey
