Installing the seat, 1935 truck

There must be something missing for installing the backrest of the seat in my '35 truck. The seat back has two tabs on the top that slip into slots in the crossmember under the window and two tabs on the bottom that have nowhere to go. The bottom tabs have a small loop on the end like it would take a rod or something but when installed into the top slots, the lower tabs are just hanging in thin air. Here is a pic of a lower tab

I'm thinking that there is some bracket of some sort missing but have no idea what it would look like. Anyone with a picture of the seat back installed or a picture of what I need to do the install?. Thanks

I believe the bottom brackets attach to the bottom seat cushion.

does your gas tank have a raised "nub" on the top at the front?

It has the two locating dowels at each front corner of the fuel tank.

For adjustment, the bottom cushion can be placed in a couple positions on the front pegs, the back cushion being attached follows it.

I don't have any provisions on the bottom cushion to attach the back cushion.

The seat back at the bottom (top picture) is part of a hinge. The seat bottom should have the other part of the hinge. As for adjustment. The front part of the seat bottom has a metal plate that is attached to the plywood bottom with 3 holes. These holes fit in the stamped metal posts that are at the front edge of the metal seat base.

Here are a couple of photos that show the seat assembly. Note that the seat back assembly attaches to the wooden seat bottom via two hinged plates.

Ah, that is what I needed to see. I don't have the two hinges plates on the seat bottom. Thanks to all that replied. Now i know what I need, just to FIND them somewhere. I will likely have to make some.
