Default Late 31 Tudor Windshield Filler Trim Question

Hey everyone,

I have an original filler trim that is rotted out. It has or "had" cage nuts that run along it. I purchased a replacement filler trim from Snyder's and it has no cage nuts or any holes at all. I am wondering what procedure those have followed when using a repro filler trim? Do these holes and cage nuts need to be added?

Thanks in advance!

If this is the part that goes along the top of the gas tank, yes you will need to drill the holes. you can bolt most of it but it will get tricky at the ends. The cage nuts make it easier to install.

The caged nuts, I believe, were on the 31. Majority of the filler strips I have seen have just the holes. I soldered on a fabricated tab at each end to attach to the pillar where the originals broke off. I slipped the tab into the top of the trim and soldered it in place. Locating the holes and installing caged nuts would take some effort.
