Please don’t laugh but try the old plumbers trick . Stuff lots of white bread in the hole so it can hold the water back then JB weld

That works well on water pipes for sure! Done it many times my self. Don't try it with silver rod though..... way to much heat Lol it turned to a solid plug in the line. Its a great trick on soft soldier though! worth a shot I would think.
