this had never been apart. it was missing the drums, but I knew I had some. but the holes to small, or the axles too big. as far as the kit from CE, I know I need to have it here, someone had said they didn't have to move his perch's , so I thought maybe i'll be lucky too.

Yogis May still have CE kits They didn't stop me if I were to buy.
AS-2016CG
1936-40 Ford Dual Leaf Rear Spring Kit $570
CE They are good kits.
I think you have a Mustang 1965 1966 Rear end .
I was stationed in Kansas and they called soda - pop Call them and ask. Maybe DD and fly and pick it up for you and do some crop dusting.

yogi's are out of the kit, but they have the springs. I was going to order them and make the rest, when the order taker said he heard CE was about a month off from re-starting under the new owners. he also said he had three orders already and would I like to get on the list. yep. so now we wait. I've got a guy who wants the banjo rear but I said I might need to move it around, so he's waiting to.

Maybe another moral to this story might be..... just keep strumming on the old banjo, and let chubby chunky chuck have the 8 or 9 inch rear

Not a CHUNK (though when they're broken, might be an appropriate term) . . . a CHUCK!

Wouldn't it be much simpler to just get the drums that fit your axle? No need for all the drama.

Look in a supplier catalog, such as Bendix, they list all of the specifications for each drum including the center diameter. Just start searching various possibilities for the origin of your axle and see if that is the drum you need. It will also allow you to ID potential axle sources.

http://www.bendix-brakes.com/product...rigin=redirect

As an example, say you think it is from a 70 Maverick. This is a 10" drum with a 2.437 center hole. A 65 Mustang would be the same. A 70 Custom has a center hole of 2.778, but is an 11" drum. You would need to check all of the specs to see if any drum fits your axle.

Through all my years messin' with this old junk I've heard 'em called center sections, third members and also CHUNKS (usually by the guys missing a tooth or two), but never heard any reference to a CHUCK. DD
