Here is a close-up picture of the small engine blocks used to lift the Flathead V8, as posted by Flathead37. Notice the notches on the side, so that they don't move once put into position. This pair of blocks belong to Lawrie. |

This would have to be my favorite! I have not used it as much as I enjoying looking at it. A work of art!

Yes, that is what it is for. The torque wrench must be the older beam style. You set the spring height then pull down on torque wrench while watching needle. There is an audible “click” when spring pressure is reached.

Re: Favorite Early V/8 Tool & Why?
This is handy for turning over an engine. As long as the flywheel and bell housing are on...... Mark

Re: Favorite Early V/8 Tool & Why?
Bringing this great thread back up with a tool that I found my buddy JM 35 Sedan using... It's a timber just about as wide as 600x16 tires with a couple of stoppers added, six by six or eight by eight I don't know for sure. Make four of them! Very easy way to get safe access when you're on level solid ground...
Edit to add: I wish we could use these on the show fields because so many cars ride too low for my fat butt to wiggle under!

My gosh yes! This tool makes this otherwise ugly task a breeze.

K.R. Wilson BV-121 spring shackle stud remover/replacer makes a tough job easy (well, relatively easy).

Re: Favorite Early V/8 Tool & Why?
I wish someone would re-cast these. Seems simple enough. I'd love to have one.
